Statement on fraud at ActionAid Malawi
It has come to ActionAid Malawi’s utmost dismay that, some unscrupulous individuals, masquerading as ActionAid Malawi staff, are going around to solicit money and other bribes from unsuspecting individuals and institutions at the promise of grants and jobs from ActionAid Malawi
ActionAid Malawi would like to totally disassociate itself from such fraudsters and calls upon the general public to immediately alert the organization or the Police if they come across such ill-meaning individuals.
Since it started operating in Malawi in 1991, ActionAid Malawi has always abided by its corrupt-free and non-discriminatory policies on procurement, partner engagement and recruitment, in line with the prevailing laws of Malawi. Simply put, ActionAid Malawi does not demand any favour or bribe in its recruitment, procurement, grant or any engagement.
Call to action
ActionAid Malawi appeals to the general public that, should they come across an individual, or any of its staff member, volunteer, and partner engaging in corrupt practices or professional misconduct, they should immediately report the matter to ActionAid Malawi on info@actionaid.org, or (+265) 1 779 002) (+265) 888 982 982 (+265) 999 321 179 (+265) 999 963 220. You may also report using the Tip-Offs Anonymous hotline which is managed by Deloitte by calling a TOLL-FREE number on 847 (if you are on Airtel/TNM/Access) or 80000847 if you are on MTL. You can also submit a report on Tip-offs anonymous website: www.tip.offs.
